Lacey G. Simpson: Assistant City Manager / Assistant KPU General Manager




Employment Experience:

Lacey Simpson was appointed to Assistant City Manager/Assistant KPU General Manager in June of 2018. Lacey first came to Ketchikan in 2005 as the Program Director for the Ketchikan Area Arts & Humanities Council and quickly developed a strong passion and commitment to the community of Ketchikan and Southeast Alaska’s unique lifestyle. She previously served as Museum Director for the City of Ketchikan, in which she developed a capital improvement program and initiated the advancement of the Tongass Historical Museum renovation. Lacey served as Acting City Manager/KPU General Manager from September 2021 through October 2022 and assisted the City Council with a recruitment effort leading to the appointment of Delilah Walsh as City Manager/General Manager on October 1, 2022. 

 

Education:

Lacey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Dickinson College. She also was an enrolled exchange student at the School of Art History, Archeology, and Anthropology at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. 

 

Interests/Hobbies:

Lacey is a member of the Southeast Conference Board of Directors and currently serves as Board President. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, arts and culture, cooking, and exploring Southeast Alaska by land and by water.
