Delilah A. Walsh: Ketchikan City Manager / KPU General Manager




Employment Experience:

Delilah Walsh assumed the position of Ketchikan's chief administrative officer on October 1, 2022, after having served as a county manager and utilities director in New Mexico for more than 13 years. Prior to working in local government, Walsh worked in all aspects of the banking industry, last serving as Vice President of a local community bank.  Walsh has a passion for employee education and development and has served as an instructor in various professional development programs. Walsh has extensive experience in human resources, staff management, financial planning and investment, strategic planning, team building, contract negotiation, policy-making, budget management, utility management, rate setting, information technology management, and program forecasting.

 

Education:

Walsh holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering Management degree from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech). She is also currently pursuing her Certified Public Manager designation through New Mexico State University.

 

Interests/Hobbies:

Walsh and her husband are avid supporters of community volunteers and have coached various youth activities, including robotics, soccer, golf, and volleyball. With their three children, the couple enjoys a very large extended family, all of whom are excited to be Alaskan visitors. She holds memberships in the International City/County Management Association, Society for Human Resources Management, American Waterworks Association, the Alaska Municipal League, Southeast Conference, and the Ketchikan Legislative Liaison.
