Election Officials
Election officials are essential to ensure elections are a success. As an election worker you will help ensure voters understand the voting process by demonstrating how to use voting equipment and explaining voting procedures; ensuring equipment and ballots are maintained and secure for an efficient and accurate election.
If you are interested in serving as an election worker please complete and return the Election Worker Application to the City Clerk's Office. Applicants selected to serve will be contacted to confirm their precinct assignment and training schedule. Election workers are paid for training and hours worked. Please contact the City Clerk's Office with any questions at 907-228-5658.
Qualifications
- Must be a registered voter of the Ketchikan Gateway Borough.
- Must be willing to remain non-partisan on Election Day and not express political opinions while working.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds and be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
- Must attend at least one mandatory election training session.
