Ketchikan is Alaska’s First City – The Salmon Capital of the World, situated on the southern portion of the Southeast Alaska Panhandle in the Tongass National Forest. Having a population of approximately 14,000 residents, Ketchikan is located on Revillagigedo Island approximately 679 air miles north of Seattle, Washington, accessible only by air or boat. Our climate is mild; we have world-class fishing, hunting, boating and scenery; small enough to be friendly and big enough to have a WalMart. We have daily airline and ferry service; Ketchikan is a nice place to live.
